SIBS at home activities
Trying to connect with our young clients during a pandemic isn't easy!
So, we are trying to keep our SIBS kids engaged with fun and creative activities at home!
Kath and Rod organised these Eco-Warrior Boredom Buster packs for our SIBS. There is hours of fun activities inside – a grass/herb growing kit, a DIY sun solar kit, puzzles galore and a foil art activity. With the help of Stockland Care Foundation funding, making this all possible. Kath and Rod will hand deliver these packs in the coming week to SIBS kids all over the Illawarra.
What is SIBS? SIBS Club is a social group for kids who have a brother or sister with a disability or chronic illness. Essentially this special group of young carers have a unique caring perspective and SIBS is all about acknowledging and celebrating that.
It's about giving young people time out to relax, have fun and just be kids. Kath and Rod have been doing Zoom online sessions during this difficult time, with the hope they can resume small groups and outings in Term 4. If you know a young person aged 5-17 years who has a sibling with additional needs who would like to join us, registrations are open!
