Due to confirmed covid cases which impact both St Therese Primary School, West Wollongong and St Brigid’s Catholic Parish Primary School, Gwynneville the school and Out of School Hours Care (OSHC) will be non-operational, until further notice, to assist us and health officials to work through the necessary contact tracing and deep cleaning activities.
Parents and carers have been advised and we are working closely with the school Principal's, Catholic Education Office and NSW Public Health Unit representatives to undertake detailed contact tracing. Those identified as close contacts will be contacted.
The school will now undergo the necessary deep clean in accordance with health requirements. Once this is complete, the service will be able to reopen for supervision for those students who are unable to learn from home. We will continue to keep parents and carers informed as new information becomes available.
Catholic Education Office and CatholicCare continue to receive advice from NSW Health, Catholic Schools NSW, and other relevant agencies to ensure our processes and plans are in line with best practice and the latest expert advice.
