Mindfulness in Nature.
Spending time in nature is associated with improved mood and overall reduced feelings of stress. Not only is being outdoors an opportunity for physical exercise, but sunlight is also a natural serotonin booster and source of vitamin D (both associated with improved mental health/wellbeing).
Walking with children in nature is an opportunity to practice and model mindfulness as a healthy coping strategy. When starting this activity explain to the child how you use mindful time in nature to feel calm again when life is stressful. Activities might include taking your dog for a walk, going for a surf or gardening.
