Gifts of Hope Christmas Appeal 2020

The countdown is on!

With only 5 weeks until Christmas, we need your help to bring a Gift of Hope to vulnerable people in our community.

Every year, CatholicCare Wollongong holds a Christmas Appeal to connect our local community through the gift of giving and goodwill.

"This year, Covid has had a massive financial, emotional and social impact on everyone, particularly vulnerable people in our community", said Director Michael Austin. "Remaining connected and helping those in need has never been more crucial", he said.

Every year, CatholicCare Wollongong coordinate a Christmas Appeal called Gifts of Hope. Our staff and volunteers collect the names of people in our community who would benefit from receiving a gift of hope at Christmas time.

"We need your help to bring the gift of hope to people doing it tough in our community", said Michael. "Your generous donation can help children in foster care, people with a disability, socially isolated seniors, families in need, kids who have sibling with a disability and youth in Juvenile Justice", he said.

This year, we've teamed up with Daniel Norris, Director at Ray White Dapto & Horsley, who is also a valued foster carer for CatholicCare. Find out about his story and the appeal is this video: https://youtu.be/3ItPTI90Ls4

"We've been foster carers for nine years and this experience has changed our lives forever", said Daniel Norris. "We believe in giving to those less fortunate than ourselves", he said.

We ask that the gifts not to be wrapped, so we can allocate the appropriate present to the right person.

CatholicCare Wollongong has also introduced online fundraising, so you can donate to local people in your community this Christmas. Just head to our website catholiccare.dow.org.au and simply select the 'Donate' tab. You can select from a range of gift vouchers and you can include a personal message of hope for the recipient.

So, please drop in and see Daniel at Ray White Dapto & Horsley to donate a gift or go to our website to share hope with people in need this Christmas.
