Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP)

This program provides entry level support to help you remain living at home with a focus on your wellbeing

What is CHSP?

CHSP provides entry level assistance for people who need some support to stay at home. The program aims to enable you to maintain independence, work with you rather than doing things for you and maximise your wellbeing. Supports can include help with daily tasks, accessing your local community and allied health therapies.

Am I eligible for CHSP?

An assessment through My Aged Care will determine your eligibility for services based on your support needs and if you are

  • 65 years or older (50 years or older for Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander people), or
  • 50 years or older (45 years or older for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people) and on a low income, homeless, or at risk of being homeless.

My Aged Care can be contacted on 1800 200 422 or myagedcare.gov.au to request an assessment.
