LivingWorks ASIST

Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) is a comprehensive 2‑day workshop that equips participants with practical, life‑saving suicide intervention skills. Through a mix of presentations, group discussions, and hands‑on skills practice, you’ll learn a proven suicide‑first‑aid model that helps you recognise when someone may be at risk and support them to stay safe.

Widely used by both professionals and community members, ASIST is recognised internationally as the gold‑standard program for suicide intervention training. No prior experience is required—just a willingness to learn and help.

LivingWorks safeTALK

safeTALK is a half‑day workshop that builds practical suicide‑prevention skills for anyone aged 15 and over. Participants learn to recognise when someone may be having thoughts of suicide and how to talk openly and safely using a simple, effective four‑step model. Through guided practice, real‑world examples, and supportive discussion, you’ll develop the confidence to respond and connect someone to further help.

Widely used by professionals, educators, parents, and community members, safeTALK is an internationally recognised gold standard program that empowers everyday people to play a vital role in preventing suicide.

Professional clinical supervision to support a thriving workforce

CatholicCare Wollongong offers experienced Clinical Supervisors who provide a confidential, supportive space for professionals to reflect on and strengthen their practice. Our supervision helps staff manage workload and work–life balance, review complex cases, debrief safely, and engage in critical reflection.

Through this process, practitioners enhance their skills, maintain professional standards, and develop sustainable, resilient work practices—supporting confidence, capability, and long‑term workforce wellbeing.

A very informative program with lots of practical strategies and clues to recognise in people who may be having suicidal thoughts.

This isn't something I ever thought I'd need guidance around, I just thought I'd figure it out when needed but having clear direct guidance about safeTALK has been so helpful.
