Growing Into Me

Growing Into Me is a program that supports schools in providing an opportunity for parents and children to understand and explore the physical and emotional changes experienced through the puberty journey.

Following the PDHPE syllabus, our sessions are available for:

  • Year 4 students: delivered in class
  • Year 5 students and parents: delivered in class with separate parent session or joint child/parent session (the joint session still provides separate parent and child focussed content)
  • Year 6 students: delivered in class

The child sessions will include information on:

  • What is puberty
  • Gender specific biological changes
  • How to look after our bodies
  • Social & emotional changes and how to manage them
  • How to ask for help and have conversations with trusted adults
  • Identify personal strengths and skills and what makes them who they are!

The parent session will include information on:

  • An overview of what will be discussed with the children
  • Relationships and connecting with their children
  • Open and honest conversations (a foundation that can help with being able to have the ‘big’ conversations)
  • How to build resilience in your child
  • What to look for and where to get further support
